NORTH COUNTRY COMMUNITY CUP BEGINNINGS
In 1991 the Watertown YMCA under the direction of its Board of Directors and Executive Director Mike Burns, organized and sponsored the North Country Community Cup (NCCC) as an event for promoting wellness and community involvement. Tom Cesta agreed to be the Overall Event Coordinator. The first NCCC was held in June of 1992 at the Watertown High School track and fields. The inaugural event included the following twenty-one (21) teams: Car-Freshner, Carthage Area Hospital, Champion, Jefferson Community College, Jefferson National Bank, Jefferson Rehabilitation Center, Key Bank, Marine Midland Bank, McDonald’s Restaurants, Niagara Mohawk Power (2 teams), Northland, NY Air Brake, NY Casualty, Price Chopper, Salmon Run Mall, Sherwood Medical, Watertown Central School District, Watertown Correctional, Watertown Daily Times, WWNY-TV, and the YMCA.
NORTH COUNTRY COMMUNITY CUP TEAMS: Over seventy (70) different teams have participated in the North Country Community Cup through its existence. The Watertown HS hosted the NCCC event for the first 21 years, Jefferson Community College (JCC) has hosted the event since. JCC is the only team to have participated in all NCCC events from 1992.

2018, we graciously received donations from local businesses, and the winning team (Samaritan) chose to donate $2,250 to the SPCA!
2019: Winning team: Jefferson County -- $4,500 to the VAC!
2021: LaFargeville Central School District chose the donations to go to NCPPC -- $6,000 awarded to the NCPPC!
